Allergy Statement

We want you to enjoy Pom as much as we do so please inform our staff at point of ordering (in person or online) of any food allergies or intolerances.

The following information will help our customers with allergies and food intolerances to make safe choices, and manage their condition effectively.

When you plan to eat at Pom please check our menu and ask about our allergy policy. Inform our staff and please be clear about your allergy or intolerance when making your order and give examples of the foods that give you a reaction.

  • Our food menu contains the following allergens from the 14 UK food law potent and prevalent allergen list ; Nuts (includes peanuts and tree nuts), Sesame, Soybean, Mustard, Gluten (includes barley, wheat and oats), Sulphur dioxide and Sulphites

If you are allergic to ingredients not included in the 14 common UK food law allergens, you should inform our staff about your specific food allergen, as this will not be highlighted on our menu. Our staff are allergen trained, and informed daily of allergens present in new kitchen dishes / baked goods which many be subject to change.

  • Please check if we offer meals that are suitable for you, or if not if our kitchen is able to make a safe dish for you with substitute ingredients.

Our kitchen staff will always try to accommodate dietary requirements and allergens at request - we can swap and exclude certain ingredients, and we minimise cross-contamination by cleaning work surfaces and equipment thoroughly between orders to remove traces of food that may have been cooked or prepared before. Please note however that we are not required to offer you an alternative meal to suit your need, and we may refuse to prepare specific food if we believe we cannot safely cater for your particular allergy requirement.

  • We cannot guarantee our kitchen dishes and baked goods will be free from cross-contamination of traces of allergens. A trace amount can be enough to cause an allergic reaction. Allergen cross-contamination can happen unintentionally when there is a risk that the allergen has entered the product accidentally during the preparation process.

Our menu is fresh and seasonal which means that ingredients may vary depending on availability, so please always check with staff when ordering - a dish that you may have eaten prior could have had an ingredient change.

  • Our kitchen menu and cake / bake selection is Vegan, and therefore does not contain the following ; Dairy, Crustaceans, Eggs, Fish, Lupin, Molluscs and Beeswax/Honey.

Our Barista service does currently offer Dairy milk as a option, alongside our Plant Based Alt. Milks (Oat, Soy, Coconut + Almond) but this is kept in a separate fridge external to our kitchen and uses marked jugs to minimise contact.

We use Oatly Barista, Alpro Barista Almond, Coconut and Soy.

We will never charge different prices for your milk choices, and hope that by offering dairy milk, we will welcome customers who are not vegan to feel comfortable making alternative plant-based choices.

  • Gluten-free swaps (bread/ingredient exclusion) are available on select menu items for those with dietary restrictions.

We are careful to prevent cross contamination in preparation, however we cannot guarantee zero contaminates due to a small kitchen. If you are Celiac or particularly sensitive to even the smallest amount of gluten, we. may be unable to serve you safely. Always discuss your dietary concerns with our staff at Point of Ordering, or contact us for more information.

Oatly Barista Milk is not currently certified as Gluten Free in Europe. Oats are naturally Gluten Free, however due to the process of production Oatly cannot be considered free of any gluten contaminates. This is due to the potential for contamination contaminated from grains containing gluten during harvesting, transport and production.
